Established in 1990, World Fibers Inc. is the sister company of World Elastic Corp. and produces high performance engineered yarns for knitting, weaving and braiding.  Specialists in innovative custom-engineered yarns to meet the diverse requirements of our customers. Privately held, the World companies currently have their facilities in Concord, North Carolina, USA.

Engineered yarn is a custom-designed composite of fibers or materials that create a yarn with specific, required technical performance characteristics.  These engineered composite yarns make it possible to produce fabrics and garments with high cut resistance and strength that are lightweight and flexible.

In addition to high strength, other composites can be made to enable heat resistance, electrical conduction, static dissipation, plus moisture and bacteria control. Engineered yarns can be made to reflect light, glow in the dark or change colors according to temperature.
